The new definition to the 2012 phenomenon
The 2012 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on December 21, 2012, which is said to be the end-date in the Mayan Long Count calendar. There’s a rumour saying that by that day, the sun would be overshadowed and all the living creatures would have to live in the darkness. But CLOT’s Creative Director, Edison Chen, approached this eschatological concept in a different way and believes that human would still survive under this catastrophe by their wisdom and high level of adaptation ability. Inspired by his believe, CLOT SS 10 Spring Summer Collection, “The Black Sun”, has turned into a wardrobe which one would wear in the “most extreme times”
到底在世界末日以前會是一個怎樣的境況？沒有太陽下的人都會在誠惶誠恐中渡過嗎？還是以高智慧見稱的人類最終都能戰勝自然,在黑暗中找到自己的陽光？ CLOT的主理人Edison Chen認為所謂的世界末日，沒有陽光都不過是世界的其中一種變化，他相信人類都總會找到自己生存的方法，包括製造出合適該環境下穿著的衣物。CLOT 2010 Spring Summer 系列THE BLACK SUN就是這個概念為藍本，把這末日前的功能服重新呈現，亦同時反映出人類的高智慧。
