NOIZE : SAME SHIT DIFFERENT DAY – Interview with Neutron Inc.

時代變遷,70年代到今天,各式各樣的文化早已改變,也許有些已沒落,也許有些成為流行,但是有一點大家看到的是,現在的社會文化裡,能忠於自我、以自我喜歡的文化作為事業的人已愈來愈少,特別是在潮流時裝文化,街頭服早已進化至與時裝結合。然而,街頭文化永遠都充滿獨特風格和魅力,不論幾多年後,依然大受歡迎。也許這是一個循環,街頭服>高級時裝>街頭服與時裝結合>街頭服…我想,我看到的,街頭服正俏俏地回來,因為多個極具風格的街頭品牌已回歸,而且變得成熟好看,其中之一便有20多年歷史的FUCT。

因為我熱愛FUCT的獨特風格,透過互聯網,先有跟創辦人Erik Brunett聊過天,也認識到於美國與FUCT有著密切關連的藝術家和音樂人,後來因緣際會之下,便認識了FUCT 的日本總代理Neutron Inc. 董事長梅咏先生,這位與Erik認識良久的前輩更與FUCT聯手打造令人驚喜萬分的FUCT SSDD。在今次的日本之旅,我探訪了梅先生的新工作室,還與他做了一個頗長的訪問。一直以來,梅先生都是主力於幕後的工作,由品牌設計、策劃以至生産和銷售都要兼顧,然而,很多人都不太明白到幕後工作裡的一些故事,以及各種與街頭文化關連的故事。所以在今天,藉著這個訪問,我希望大家能了解更多,學懂更多,更熱愛我們的街頭文化,也更熱愛FUCT和PAWN這兩個充滿風格的街頭文化品牌。

Since the 70s, street culture had influenced the fashion world in the many forms, pioneered by individuals who turn their personal beliefs and expression into their own business model. As the line between street culture and fashion blurred with cycles of trend shifting continuously, we are glad to see that that many original street culture brands remain true to their roots, and FUCT, with two decades of history, is one of them.

Being a big fan of FUCT in one way or another, led me to finally meet Mei Yong, Director of Neutron Inc, the sole distributor of FUCT in Japan. Mei Yong, together with Erik is the brain child behind FUCT S.S.D.D line. Mainly staying behind the scene, Mei Yong is heavily involved in the concept, design, production and marketing of the S.S.D.D line.

During my recent trip to Japan, I was able to talk in depth with Mei Yong not only about the his work in producing the S.S.D.D line but also his take and passion in street culture and also on his other brand PAWN.
