Nike Sportswear Presents – Street Art Collection

With the World Cup final in South Africa 4 months away, Nike has fused football-oriented themes and features and have integrated into their NSW S/S 2010 collection. Within it is a special series of 6 collections that is dedicated to the 6 countries they are sponsoring in the finals. Titled the Street Art Series, Nike has invited a street arties from that respective country to design and create a range of clothing and footwear in a bid to demonstrate the notion that football is a universal language that can transcend to people from different background, different language from different cultures.

Nike Sportswear 2010 SS Collection Preview – footwear

With the world’s attention in 2010 shifting to the World Cup Finals that is held in South Africa in where the latest in footwear technology will be on show for 4 weeks, Nike has used this opportunity to give its aging Air Max collection a new lease in life where it now blends in both the form and design which we’ve come to love over the years with the latest in technology. This is where the Torch system, Nike’s newest technological offering, comes into play.

The Torch system is based on the weight reduction concept that derives from football boots to let the user attain high speeds while providing enough support and comfort. The essence of the Torch technology is a 3 layer seemless  mesh construction which provides flexibility, breathability and rigidity while remain light in weight.  Also it incorporates the FREE technology, with a FREE 7.0 sole providing light weight comfort as well as letting your foot run in the most natural posture as possible.

Beginning with the Nike Air Max BW Gen II, the Torch technology will slowly expand and utilised into the Nike footwear range, which includes the Air Force 1, Air Maxim 1 and Air Max 90 Current in the coming season.
