With the world’s attention in 2010 shifting to the World Cup Finals that is held in South Africa in where the latest in footwear technology will be on show for 4 weeks, Nike has used this opportunity to give its aging Air Max collection a new lease in life where it now blends in both the form and design which we’ve come to love over the years with the latest in technology. This is where the Torch system, Nike’s newest technological offering, comes into play.
The Torch system is based on the weight reduction concept that derives from football boots to let the user attain high speeds while providing enough support and comfort. The essence of the Torch technology is a 3 layer seemless mesh construction which provides flexibility, breathability and rigidity while remain light in weight. Also it incorporates the FREE technology, with a FREE 7.0 sole providing light weight comfort as well as letting your foot run in the most natural posture as possible.
Beginning with the Nike Air Max BW Gen II, the Torch technology will slowly expand and utilised into the Nike footwear range, which includes the Air Force 1, Air Maxim 1 and Air Max 90 Current in the coming season.
